“Trainer Apprenticeship Program”.

Paw-a-day Inn K9 Suites & Midwest Professional Canine Service is excited to announce an opportunity of a life time.  We are seeking a dog training career goaled person to join our awesome team in our Apprenticeship Program.  No experience necessary, but applicants with some higher education, previous dog training experience, excellent verbal and written skills and a strong interest in dogs will be given priority. 

About this program!

In this unique Trainer Apprentice Program we will select 1 person to participate and learn the skills to be a professional dog trainer, working hands and taking Written and Practical testing.  That person will have the  opportunity to join our team as a Professional Dog Trainer.  (a non compete agreement will be signed at the beginning of the program.) 

Cost:  We pay you!  We are going to pay you to learn how to train dogs on a professional level.

Hours:  Approximately 40 hours a week, to include evening and weekend classes.  Schedule will be determined at the time of appointment.

Length of Training:  60-90 days (depending on applicants skill level)

Ideal candidates will possess the following traits!

  • Ability to talk & work in front of a room full of peers, students, clients, mentors and other trainers.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Be punctual

  • Be passionate

  • Have a neat clean professional appearance.

  • Be healthy and physically fit, lift 50 lbs, kneel, squat and run as needed.

  • Be comfortable around all breeds and sizes of dogs

  • Be trainable and open to suggestions. 

  • The ability to stay calm in stressful situations

  • Have plenty of patience

  • The ability to recognize and quickly handle potentially dangerous situation between dogs and people

  • Have some computer and video editing skills

  • Have reliable transportation and a valid Driver License

  • Have a high school diploma or GED

  • Committed and dependable!

Special consideration will be given to candidates who

  • Have experience or knowledge in dog training

  • Have experience in the pet care industry to include but not limited to kennel work, grooming, veterinarian environment or shelter/foster work.
